FrinkX eats turkey sandwhiches dont listen to him.

But he is right play semi-tight AA KK QQ JJ TT 99 88 AK AQ AJs ATs

If you are in a late position you can play suited connectors like or small pairs. A simple rule with small pairs : no set no bet. Unless you know your opponent this will help you from making stupid bluffs.

Dont chase straights/flushes unless it is a largepot and a very cheap price to call.

And its a better idea to play at pokerstars because they have pennies and 0.1/0.25$. This means you will lose less during your first times, but partypoker is fine too.

And play what bonchkid said and small pairs too imo. You will get many money 1/8 when you catch trips. Also bet only with top pairs at the start and you will do it fine.

why does late position let you play i am also new to the game

please give me some explanation on that one

frink mid pairs meaning 22-77 or on the flop anyway if its 22-77 then he/she should be playing them. the implied odds on them are huge as long as you both have decent stacks. even if it is raised it is still a good call. how many NL $25 party player can lay down TT-AA with all unders?

example: NL $25 on party blinds .25/.50. you know he has AA and raises to $2 you have 22 and call $2. you hit a set 11 times so 11x$25 = 275.
88 times he/she misses you lose 88x2 = 164. maybe ~50 or so on a suck out or when they both hit sets. so its good to play them unless the AA makes a big raise pf which most of them slow play it anyway lol. for the times you miss, no set no bet as bonchkid so eloquently put it so you wont be losing anything extra.

because in late position you get to act last ( duh ) and also are less likely to be rasied behind you

if she cant even beat NL $25 on party playing in late position will not help her at all. she will lose a lot more money than that hand would make for her. so if she is on the button she should call with that?
what if there is no one in the pot before her? what if the flop misses her hand? what if the flop brings 2 clubs with 1 other player? what if the flop is 9 high and someone raises her? what if she hits 2nd or 3rd pair? what if she flops 2 to a straight?

unless you are willing to explain each situation this kind of hand will bring only losses for her and wont be profitable at all.

Its impossible to explain every situation. If you dont want to play suited connectors, dont.

Obviously thats not true.
You don't have to know how to play EVERY situation because most are semi-obvious.

i do play suited connectors, but i know how to play them. if she is having problems beating NL $25 on party i dont think she should be playing them. she should just play the basic cards for now is what i was trying to say.

the only flop she would feel comfortable would have to be the top end of a straight an how rare is that. even if 3 clubs come she might play it wrong and still lose. even if JQK comes she may play it wrong and lose. 9tc isnt a good hand for her to be playing.

when you see a flop with AA theres are only a few flops that may cause problems its pretty simple with AA theres a big difference however with a small suited connector
