Question about winning hand

I am going to take a guess here (since as much as I hate to admit it years ago I used to think this way).....
I could be wrong but are you thinking that what you had was K A 2 3 4 .... if so, unfortunately in a single hand of Holdem for a given player Ace plays high OR low but not both
So you can have a straight ending with A or a straight starting with A but NEVER an A in the middle of a straight
Also, on this topic, a strait must be ALL five cards, there aint no such thing as a 4 card straight (that is called a strait draw)... (again hate to admit it but another one I thought worked when I was much younger)
In this case you only had a pair of 2's , with A (K Q) for the kicker ( kicker would only matter if the other guy didnt have anything better than the pair of 2's either)
Hope this helps

I can't comprehend how you think you have a K-high straight there.
A king high straight is KQJT9.

@Goon Thanks for the detailed response. Makes sense now. I did think you can have a straight with the A in the middle but I understand now that you can't. I am trying to learn the game. Thanks Again.

You will also find many sites on the internet to start getting basic details on poker. Start with just looking into hand rankings and working from there. Also if you are serious about the game look into purchasing one poker book. They will provide you so much information on how to win money that the cheap book will pay for itself if you read it and follow it.
