    Default Introducing...

Hello all... I just want to introduce myself. I am brand new to the Poker world, coming into it to see if I can make any cash while having a little fun!

Does anyone have any advice for a newbie? I still don't know what the best sites are and what kind of tournaments are good for me. I am pretty conservative in my game.

thank you all in advance for good advice!

Learn bankroll management and sign up for rake back. Those are the keys to being a profitable player and enjoying the game. Welcome to the game and forums.

    Welcome to the forum.

Start at the micros, read some books, play a lot, profit.
Lots of good rakeback options at http://www.rakeguard.com/?raf=KRE8R

KRE8R probably has about seventy college funds in his NL5 roll.

A good way to learn what works and what doesn't work is to sit at a micro level for 30 minutes and try to win every pot.

I'd suggest (well I would because I made most of them lol) watching some free poker training videos to see first hand what a solid, basic strategy looks like then I'd complement that visual learning with reading some good, beginner books.

Texas Holdem for dummies (don't be put off by the name) is a solid book with sound advice which more importantly is set out in an easy to understand format.

    Good Luck

Hey guys! I have lost some money while learning... so I've decided to stick to free poker sites for now and take a look at BrokerStar's videos (thanks so much BrokerStar)... plus, I will go out and find that book! Have a great day all!

The most important thing to learn first is starting hand selection. This is what most newbies fail to grasp, and is what will lose you the most money. Also know when to let go of a hand.
