Just a question. I've been reading a fair bit and the general consensus is to play it tight and only bet on good hands. I'm using a poker calc and I dont put money down unless its a good hand.
The thing I find is the blinds pass the table so often and I never get a play. The people who bet with a A4, for example, seam to keep winning. When I finally get a good hand, TT, JJ, KK I play but either they fold quick or I loose to a straight etc.
Do I need to be more aggressive? E.g every now and then raise with a JT,K9 or A5 etc?

1c/2c games... is this normal?

This is way, way, way to general to even try to give an answer to.
Watch some poker videos at the micro stakes to get an idea of how to play or buy a good poker book.
Don't mean the answer to sound rude at all but summing up the optimal strategy in a couple of paragraphs is never going to happen.
Just be aware of what other players at the table are doing, look for the ones that call down lite and wait for a hand. Find the guys that call a lot pre flop but play fit or fold post flop and you can widen the range of hands you play and isolate them with a pre flop raise knowing you'll pick up a tonne of flops with a c-bet.
Find the rocks at the table and raise their blinds without mercy as they fold so much you'll show a profit, also they can have the hell c-bet out of them as they fold way too often (Beware that when these players do play back at you, it's because they have a hand).
So depending who or what types of player you have at your tables it hard to say be more aggressive or play more hands etc...
One thing is for sure, hands that are dominated and have reverse implied odds, hands like A5 will lose you more money in the long run than they'll make at this stage of your poker career.
Good luck
