Default My first Trip to AC.

For Fathers day my wife has set me up to go with a few friends next tuesday to Atlantic City to play a $40 tournament and $100 tournament.

This is my first time playing anywhere outside of my home or a friends.

Any type of Etiquette I should know?
    Anything else I should know?

A few posts down from this one I have posted my play style.

Thanks in advanced for any help.

    Wow nice wife.
Lots of good rakeback options at http://www.rakeguard.com/?raf=KRE8R

KRE8R probably has about seventy college funds in his NL5 roll.

For your first live casino experience, above all, have fun. Enjoy the game and the experience. Don't let the money weigh heavily on you.

Secondly, I would play very tight in the opening and really focus. You're probably going to get butterflies and be a little nervous when you first get in the game. This is normal for a new player to a live game.

Spend your time player watching. Try to understand the flow of the game and the type of players you're sitting with. The more you know the better you'll be able to make tough decisions once they arise.

Play in a manner that you can be satisfied should you go bust. Nothing worse than second guessing big plays or folds that you made after losing. Read the situation and go with your gut.

play really loose and try and establish a wild image. But when people push back, fold. But if you do hit something good, you'll crush them because they have seen you make alot of loose moves.

    This was 4 months ago:

AC was my first live tournment at a casino
Did two tournaments: $40 and $100.

$40 (45 folks) - I was at the Button and I got JTs I bet 4BB and was called by the BB, flop came up J, T, 4, I raised, BB reraised me, I went all in, BB called and showed QQ. Turn = 8, River = 4.

$100 (50 folks) - Started well and than went a stint with nothing - basically antes killed me since I wasnt used to them. 10 of us left, I was the short stack, I was BB and my hand was TT. Two people called, Button folded, SB called, and I went all in. Fold, Fold and SB called. Showed KKs and they held up.

Later in the summer I went to Soaring Eagle Casino, in Michigan, for my first cash game and did decent.
