I'm not new to poker, but I've never played for cash before. I have a few questions.
I've read a few horror stories about people getting in trouble with their banks when the banks discovered they were getting funds from online poker sights so my plan at this point is to not involve my bank at all.
I was thinking of possibly using a pre-paid card, but I know people have had trouble getting those to deposit. My second recourse is to do a transfer of funds where I send one of you fine people money and get sent (pokerstars) money in return. I wouldn't get a deposit bonus for it, but ah well.
So my first question is...what would you all recommend for someone who wants to avoid a paper trail?
Secondly when it comes to cashing any potential checks that might come my way. I would probably just go to a check cashing place, again to avoid connecting things to my bank account in any way. Anyways, I know there's been a few issues with pokerstars recently and one of their processors being shut down...should I be worried about ever getting a bad check from them and sunsequently getting into big trouble? (I know I sound overly-paranoid...next thing you know I'll be putting a tinfoil hat on my head).
Anyways, thanks for any help and/or guidance you could give to this overly paranoid goofball.![]()

When you are just starting to play poker for real money you need not worry too much about where to unload all of your riches. I'd focus more on being able to beat the games and start to create a path to learning.
96% of players are losing so I'd focus on how I intend to win, then if all goes well, I'd start to 'worry' about what to do with all of my loot.. lol
Good Luck

it depends on the bank, if you link an online site to a local bank, they usually dont care or dont know you're playing poker, but i know bank of america hates online poker and they wont allow you to link your account to any poker site that i know of
