I'm about to start my first MTT

If I do manage to make it past the first table I'll post a rail request (if any of you are on Titan, that is).

It's a freezout, so do I take it I should play ultra ultra tight for the first couple of levels to let the maniacs knock themselves out?

Damnit, not a single reasonable starting hand yet. And I got disconnected and it took me 3 minutes to get back on.

Damnit, getting really low now. Just lost shitloads with JJ against AQo, and now just lost another massive amount with AQs against JJ. Go figure.

Shit. Finished 565 out of 1600. Is that any good?

I do feel that this site really isn't a newbie friendly forum though. Yes, finishing 565 out of 1600 players is shit, although I'd personally like to think that as a newbie finishing in the top third is good progress. Yes, people here play a lot of MTTs. I just thought that I might get some encouragement for my first MTT on these forums, but I guess I was wrong.

I do think I get some good info every now and then from these forums, but the majoripoker in general. I'm not like some of the assholes you get here saying that they have the potential to be the best poker player in the world, and how I love moving up levels prematurely because people there "respect my raises" (i.e. I raise like a twat with crap and people fold).

If these forums are basically just a pro-poker big dick competition with the few people who know how to play poker properly making the n00bs feel like shit instead of providing positive criticism then please let me know and I will gladly bow out.
