Default An obvious read?

Hey all,

Here's a hand I played last night. CO's a good player, but I thought something was fishy here so...

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (8 handed)

UTG+1 ($$8.10)
MP1 ($$25.10)
MP2 ($$5.30)
CO ($$36.20)
Hero ($$17.45)
SB ($$17)
BB ($$26.70)
UTG ($$21.60)

Preflop: Hero is Button with , .
UTG folds, UTG+1 calls $0.25, MP1 folds, MP2 folds, CO calls $0.25, Hero calls $0.25, SB folds, BB checks.

Flop: ($1.25) (4 players)
BB checks, UTG+1 checks, CO bets $1, Hero calls $1, BB folds, UTG+1 folds.

I thought for a moment before calling... Why would someone bet a buck if they held an ace? so I called, to represent a set .

Turn: ($3.25) (2 players)
CO bets $4, Hero raises to $8, CO folds.

And he didn't take a second before folding .

Final Pot: $15.25
Main Pot: $11.25, won by Hero.
Pot 2: $4, returned to Hero.

Results below:
No showdown. Hero wins $15.25.

Nice hand. It might be an obvious read or it might not be, but the point is that you followed up on it. It's a lot easier to fold when you've only put in 25c.

I suppose you're right. But when I feel like my read's accurate, I can't help but follow through with it.

Unfortunately sometimes when I catch someone bluffing with nothing (like ace high), and try to push them out, they stupidly call and still beat my hand! lol.

Cheers,

Mike
