It would be worth looking on some of the poker sites, for basic rules. Read the rules, try and remember them, find yourself a site that does play money, like Stars and go and give it a try.
Rinse and Repeat.

Practice first with friends and with "fake" money at most of the online poker sites. If you google, you can find thousands of sites and information about the basics of poker and all its variations

I have some basic no limit holdem videos on my site that will help you beat micro stake games.
Have a look through them, there are only a few on there but there will be more soon. http://www.tagpoker.co.uk/pages/training-videos.html
I found watching videos of winning players helped me more than books. But don't get me wrong, reading books to re-inforce the lessons learnt will help no end.
I'd start with a simple book like Texas Holdem for Dummies. Don't be insulted by the title, it is a great book for beginners and full of good content.
