Default SNG Advice.

I'm currently trying to claw my way up to a decent sized bankroll and am now playing STT's and MTT's to build it up. I'm just wondering about something that confused me though.

In Dan Harrington on Tournament Play books, he emphasised on tight play early in the tournament, yet this issue of Inside Poker that I have talks about implied odds and about bad players being around so you wanna hoover up chips early. Do these ideas contradict each other, or is the magazine just saying to play SC and small pairs in multiway pots in favourable conditions?

Also, does anyone have the link to that 180man SNG advice topic on 2+2? I had the link a while ago, but can't seem to find the topic anymore..

Thanks.

I prefer Harrington's strategy. I play premium hands in any position, and might mix it up a bit from time to time with suited connectors/weak aces in late position.

What i have found in the SnG's def at less then 5 bucks the fish are in a lot trying to get that early chip stack, so i find it best to play tight at the beginning and peg off someone for a lot of chips.

I tend to play tight and very aggresive initialy in low stakes tourneys, then move to very loose.

The was I play is close to opposite to how my opponents are playing at each point in the tourney.
