Good morning.
I have been playing $5/$10 limit hold em for play money. I have a fairly good understanding of the game and base my descicions on EV, position, pot odd, and win odds. I also rely on fish for a big part of my profit. I started with a play balance of $10000, i have brought this up to $11387 so far with no big downswings in my bankroll.
I want to play for real money now and will be playing low stakes.
I would like to play 0.05/0.10 games. I figure my sitdown needs to be 1000 big bet ($100) and 30 big blinds ($1.5) so my sit down for each session is $101.50. I would like my bankroll to cover a minimum of 5session which would be $507.50. Eventually when i have made enough i will move up in stakes.
Does this sound feasable given my expeirence and skill level?
Also i would like to build my bankroll playing free rolls, i have noticed that most of the games are NL holdem. How differnt is the stargery needs for NL and where can i find a good heads up statergy?
Also respond greatly appreiecated.
Erdnase
PS. thank for the reply to my last post, my game has seen the difference!!![]()

i dont even know wtf you are talking about with your bankroll. "sitdown" is a term that you just made up. if you stick to .05/.10, you should be good to go with like 50 bucks.

I've generally heard that 300 big bets is good for limit poker and 20 buy-ins is good for pot limit/no limit. Playing .05/.10 limit would require $30, and .05/.10 NL would require $200. I wouldn't deposit much more than this, because it is tempting to get on a rush, move up in limits prematurely, then lose the whole roll. Also, be prepared for some bad downswings which may require you to deposit more.

for 0.05/0.10, isn't the max buy-in like 10$?

yes the max buy in is $10 at .5c/10c nl. 20 buy ins is a good amout i think for nl, but my guess is as you get higher the games will get more aggressive and the swings will be bigger so you'll prob need more buy ins.

your bankroll probably needs to be around 20 buy-ins which would be $200. i just hope you know that play money games are very different than real money games. i suggest you start out tight and get a feel for the game before you make any moves. i'm not even sure if moves work at those limits because they are so bad. good luck!

As one member stated earlier, at most poker rooms there is a limit to how much money you can bring into the game. for $0.05/$0.10 you will not be allowed to bring in anything close to $200....yes, I believe it is $10 at most poker sites.
If you have the patience to start at that stake level and work your way up, I applaud you because I would not have the patience.
Also, if you're looking for some NL strategy, check out the blog in my sig.
