flushes

i was playing play money limit today and i had suited j10, another guy had suited 5-6, the flop came 2, Q, 4 suited, the turn and river were trash cards, giving us both flushes, I won, I thought it would be a split pot, both queen high flush?

your hand is higher due to the next high card in the flush.
