Default Last night at the ol' B&M

Hey guys, went to the casino last night, and sat down to my third live game, andI noticed a few things that I'd like some feedback on. In live games do you see a lot of non-premium hands going deep? At least most of the hands that went to a showdown last night seemed to be things that shouldn't be played according to ABC poker as I understand it. These guys at the table seemed to have a good grasp on the game, so I'm guessing they would fall into the dangerous LAG players, vs. the clueless LAG players.

Then came the big shock of the night for me. One guy joined our table after busting out of the tourney that had started earlier. He started betting all-in preflop on every hand BLIND. I tried to take him out with pocket jacks, but a third guy got me with an ace on the river. Fortunately, he left after 10-15 minutes, and a couple hundred dollars. How common are these kind of maniacs in the live game?

Aside from that, I had fun even though I didn't leave with more than I came with, but I'm still learning.

Explain how it's "fortunate" that a dude going all-in preflop blind each hand left the table.

Well for me, I'm still so new that going all-in pre-flop is a little nerve-racking. I'm not sure what the best approach is with a player like this. Pocket pairs? Stuff like AK, AQ?

Well heads-up all you need to do is call with any hand that has >50% equity vs. a random hand.

In this situation call him with your top hands.

    Easy money.

I think Id want a bit more than 50% equity.
The guy is a maniac, we can wait til we have at least 65% equity or so.

I think I call something like any pair higher than 77, any ace and any 2 face cards if I know its HU but even hands like TJo are a bit dodgy.

I was just saying if he's going all in with any hand then if you have >50% you're more often than not going to be favourite.
