Yep, the main uses for tracking software are to monitor your own game to find leaks in your playstyle that could be costing you money. The second main use for tracking software is to monitor your opponents and help you to easily define which players at your table are loose passive, loose agressive, tight agressive etc.
While you should try to pick up the signs of these types of play without software it can be very hard to do so when multitabling, tracking software and a HUD make multitabling infintiely easier for defining what kind of players you are up against.
