I'd say put $50 into a site, play the lowest stake cash games and lowest stake sng's and MTTs. This way you get some experience and see what games you like best. Try limit and no limit holdem and see how you get on. I'd play a fair bit before you go for poker x factor.
Then maybe pick up Theory of poker by Sklansky or Little Green book by Gordon and read up on some useful concepts.
Browse the poker strategy forum here, there's some good posts in there.
And post lots of hands.

WU I can deposit minimum of 50 with 13 dollar fee
or bankers check 100 with like a 7 dollar fee
ill get myself into trouble with no limit until i build a br so limit if fine, and im getting little green book, theory of poker, and HOH 1, and 2 for now...

Go with 100 but play like you have a $50 roll, if you know what I mean.
Like just play 1/2c cash and $1 tourneys (DON'T go higher) and play lots of hands, there's really no substitute for experience at this stage.
