Default How much to deposit

Well Im sure most of you have read how I went on tilt horribly with a 5 dollar present from someone on PS

well my parents are alright with me playing but since the gift2go doesnt work, they dont want their cc's used,

so im wondering should I just deposit 50 from western union and pay the 13 dollar fee

or go ahead and put 100 in, 7 dollar fee, and play hella smart

thanks

Quite a bit if you want to last.

I used to just buy-in the minimum and lose it all, then repeat. Lotta money wasted.

My last deposit was $200. Played $0.05/$0.10 cash games and $10+1 MTTs.

The rake at games below 5/10 limit is pretty prohibitive towards your profit potential. So ideally you'd want to avoid playing until you could hit that level or higher.

But, barring that, playing lower limits can help you get a start and gain experience. Just beware that the plays you learn in the microlimits will not always translate well into middle limit and higher limit games. Not everyone is pushing 36 sooted because they might hit a straight and a flush with it.

If you're looking for additional money for your bankroll, I put up $500 in cash prizes each month over @ my site, including a prize for bad beats. I'm even doing a custom-built computer giveaway for the holidays.

There's some good people in these forums who can give advice on starting out at lower limits as well. Best wishes!

The old saying is only put enough money on the table that you can afford to lose. But I think that all depends on whether you currently or in the future will have an expectancy to profit. I tend to play limits above my current poker room balance but under what my total poker bankroll is. But most of the time play in games that you can beat. Nothing sadder than watching someone play 2 hours over $3 though.
