Bad run
So here's a q for the seasoned (obviously) players: How do you handle a bad run?
20-30 hands is one thing but when it gets to 80-100 hands, how do you stop from loosing it? Every single combination useless. AA/KK, suited connectors, AKs/KQs; flop comes and you are staring at absolutely nothing. Is there any other strategy besides just getting up and walking out for fresh air?
How do you handle it?

hahah 80 or 100.
you really made me LOL.
Mainly there is nothing you can do about the cards. YOu should avoid going on tilt. Either quit the game, or switch tables, or do something like that if you are superstitious. Otherwise, just stay patient and in line. Dont get out of line and start doing stupid stuff you normally dont do.
Lastly, you should open up your game so that you do not depend on cards. Like for cash games, you can prolly never deal me AA-JJ, AK-AJ, etc... and id still play fine. Mainly b/c i raise shitload of bad hands, and I am used to playing post flop w/o them.
For tourney and MTTs that is more difficult to do though.
Ima try to make a video where I play loose and play lots of flops where I miss. When you miss a flop, you need to keep in mind that the other person has also prolly missed, so dont be afraid to get your feet wet and make some bluffs.

after 20-30 bad hands, i normally shout at the dog.
after 40-50 bad hands, i threaten to take him for the snip
after 80-100 bad hands, i just lose my head completely and sell him to the local chinese restaurant (im on my 19th dog at the moment)
ive never experienced a run lasting longer than 100 hands so i cant comment on what i might possibly do at that stage.

This happens to us all at some point, we get bad runs and good runs. You'll just got to remain calm on a bad run and uber focused on a good run.
If you find you've gone on a bad run and are losing money, my advice would be to sit back and think 'would I do exactly the same thing again'. By going over your hands and working out what you did and what you would do in the future, not only will it improve your game, but it should keep you calm and stop you going on tilt. Whatever you do, don't take it personally, it's just maths at the end of the day. Most of the best pros in the world constantly rerun their bad beats and bad runs in their heads, they work out if they did the right thing at each stage - if you did the right thing then there's no need to worry, if you made a mistake, well, you've thought it through and you won't do that again, will you. Bad runs can make a good player into a great player if it's helps them focus in on their game.
Good luck, hope it all turns around for you soon.

There's a reason this was posted in the NEWBIE section you retarded-"can't see the obvious"-moron.
Just to spell it out for your misplaced brain: I am a poker newbie, hence posting a noob question in the POKER NEWBIE section.
But yeah, THANKS for showing me the true colours of your site so early on.
By the way, thank you to those who did help with a genuine answer. Pity you're being lead by a mentally blind idiot.
