Gder - You obvioulsy are not raising w/ trash in lower limits where most players can't fold/find the fold button? If you are, let me know your secret. While I raise on the button/co/LP w/ a wide range of hands, I still have nights where I go card dead, but am afraid to go LAG/SLAAG because in the live games people CANNOT fold.

I don't think he's talking about raising J3o UTG or anything, more small pairs, suited connectors, gap connectors and the like from good position that have the potential to flop big against opponents that won't fold any sort of pair/draw.
You don't need to go super lag when you're card dead, but you can certainly make a decent profit at the lower levels with "smaller" hands in position and outplaying the opponents postflop.

david - I truly feel like an idiot right now.
I need to stop posting when I am in a hurry! Thanks for clarifying. I often do the same thing when i get card dead.

Often times, like the multi-table tournament I just played in, players don't fold and not only that, I can't recieve any hands. 300-400 hands may not seem like much compared to the 1000s that I hear some of you play in a session, but with the blinds going up and me being dealt 84o and J3o hand after hand for 300-400 hands it becomes very hard to do well.
I often play the player if possible, but online, as I am sure all of you know well, they will never fold. It is hard to outplay somebody who will call off all their chips w/ top pair no kicker.
Also, often times they do raise the pot, and when they do it is 5-6x the BB. I can't see how you can call a massive pre-flop raise like that w/ hands like 57o and A3s.
I hadn't made any big mistakes or bad calls.
What do you do then if you are card dead and get drawn out on when you finally pick up a hand (which is like 1 out of every 35 hands). This isn't a cash game, btw, so you can't just get up and leave.

No it's not, it's incredibly easy. When you have a hand value bet all the way, when you have air, don't bluff.
They pay off so well in the long run.

In a tourney, just sit it out. You start out with plenty of chips online... just wait.
When the blinds start to get big if you haven't found any good situations to get chips yet, then you start making moves because the blinds make steals more valuable.
I've played plenty of tourneys where you sit there for four or five levels waiting for cards... then get dealt Aces, get it all in preflop against KTo, and bust out to a 67893 board Then there's the tourneys where you triple on the first hand and spend 3 levels of every fish in existence begging you to PLEASE take their stack.
It'll all work out in the long run... if you're cashing in 1 out of 5 MTT's... you'll do super

That's me like every tournament. I've lost 7 tournaments in a row to runners. I am actually counting to see if I can hit 10.
