I wouldn't recommend quitting your job right away to play poker as a pro.
Your best bet is to make sure you have another steady source of income. Then study the game and play part-time (online is the most convenient, and you can also get rakeback and deposit bonuses, which can help build your bankroll).
I started out semi-pro and had a regular job and waited until I had solid results over the course of hundreds of thousands of hands played online, before I quit my job completely.
Just be aware that poker isn't as much "fun" when you're doing it primarily to earn an income. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but just something to be aware of.
