What? You're more likely to be dealt a straight than a flush?

I've been looking at things completely wrong for like 18 months now

there's no mention of Hold'em anywhere, not sure this applies. It would work for Draw Poker I suppose

Lets just take al the 5's and 10's out of the deck and straights will be "really really really" hard to get.

never thought about your more likely dealt a straight draw more than a flush draw. You know those times when it seems everytime you shuffle and deal out the flop it comes all of one suite? I didnt think straights could be dealt more often as it seemed it was 50/50. But in my example I gave im saying drawing on the flop. flushes are more likely to be completed than a straight is. People on this thread though brought it too preflop with only 2 cards so thats where it all came from. But in my example I gave on the flop flush is more likely to hit.

You seem confused, as in your op you clearly state that you wondered why a flush was ranked higher than a straight.

In your very narrow example, yes, you are more likely to make your flush.

But what about if you are holding 5h6h and the flop is 7c8sTd. What hand is more likely now?

-nope now I understand if your scrolled up and read one of the posts me thanking weaktight...your more likely to be dealt a straight/flush. I wondered about this as at the start I didnt really notice that you get dealt straights more than flushes it seemed even to me.

clearly state that you wondered why a flush was ranked higher than a straight.
-I stated that as befor I saw you getting dealt straights/flushes draws are even. Then I brought the example onto the flop drawing to one card to complete our straight/flush. Im not sure if you can put yourself into other peoples shoes but try it.

you are more likely to make your flush
-nothing else to write? I wrote this at least 5 times on this thread you dont have to write it down again save some time.

5h6h and the flop is 7c8sTd. What hand is more likely now?
-clearly your most likly to hit your flush than a straight unless your handicapped.... God kid you dont have to think im retarded....

A flush is when you have all of the same suit. A straight is when you have 5 cards in a consecutive numerical ranking order. If your straight has all the same suit you have a straight flush. That is the highest hand. Hope this helps.
