Default Gonna start to play real soon but need odds etc

Hey

Ok im going to start playing at the micros soon and i want my mathmatical side of the game sound.

I was going to use a poker calculator and just rely on the fact that later on i will get a feel from remembering what the calculator chucked out

Is it true that if i played without looking at any charts about like, chance of this hand or that hand being top hand etc i would never learn it..and just go on blind?

I need a good list of all the things i need to get sorted if you can see any more please add:
  • Starting hand ranking
  • pot odds and implied odds
  • Number of outs to make hand probabilities

Is there anything else?

Thanks

I have never used charts when I play.

here are the basics I look for.

flush and straight draws (open ended or double gutshot) - about 4:1

belly busters and overcards about 11:1 (8:1 is probably enough on the flop for me - I discount overcards also)

Default hi

Should i memorise any charts? or just print any of the different ones i may need out and stick them next to the pc so as i play i learn them?

A quick question:

Should you only play when you have the nuts hand the cards should make in limit holdem?

When you consider pot odds against hand odds would you only consider the cards that would give3 you the board nuts? or the hand you think is the nuts against the other players?

Thanks

Thanks alot year im planning on taking some books on holiday to study day in day out.

I think i'll get getting started in holdem and then move onto ssh (any other suggestions..or are they sufficient to learn low limit holdem?)

Are those books better than the likes of "Internet Texas Hold'em Winning Strategies from an Internet Pro by Matthew Hilger" and " Winning low limit holdem by Lee Jones [2nd Edition]" which i have in ebook form?

Basically this is my plan of action for a summer of learning poker:

First of all when im learning things i usually get really het up and start asking tons of questions trying to run before i can walk i guess you could say, so i thought i'd just try to enjoy poker with small targets adding to it gradually:

Target 1. Utilise compleltly the mathmatical side of the game combined with playing tight-aggressive at the low micro limits (learning all tables of probabilities and hand rankings by heart and all formulaes)

Once i can do this then start to read ssh and that applying more of their strategies to my game gradually and moving up the limits slightly from micro

But its the first target i need a quick bit of setting on, ive been reading many books and ive got a feel for aggressive play, slowplaying, checkraising, mixing the play up etc. I just need help getting the maths sorted but i can read about it all in the books i just need to know what it is made up of (compleletly)

So i need to learn
1. Starting hand ranking- i do have a good idea but maybe more rigidly and in accordance to position.
2. pot odds and implied odds (are the pot odds and implied odds only important if you think you'll definatly have the best hand?)
3. Number of outs to make hand probabilities ( should these be learned off by heart, will it save time?)

Is there any other mathmatical stuff, or stuff to learn etc ( obviously by learn i just mean like tables and numbers and stuff)?

Thanks alot, ok im gonna stop starting threads for a while lol, just had alot to ask and ive been helped greatly for which i greatly appreciate and have repd duely
