Default do you play from feel or calculations

Hey

To any of the medium to good players, do you play from feel (like of odds and pot size calculations) or by working out all the actual odds and calculations?

Thanks

I play from feel rather than from a stats calculator. If I start having things like calculatem or some other tracking software open then I find it just gets in my way.

You get to know basic odds fairly quickly, ie if you have 4 to a flush and the other guy bets less than quater of the pot then your ok to call.

I know a lot of players like to see the stats though so I guess it's down to individual choice. Why not try a few games each way and see which you feel most comfertable with.

Love the bit in bold - what about the supposedly weaker players out there?

I play with a mix between the two - I know the basic calculations for most situations when they arise.

I do math by feel anyway. So I guess my answer is: Yes.

i started playing a lot on math a little while ago but once i got comfortable with every situation enough i dont sit there anymore and caculate my odds of winning i play the opponent and the situation as much as i can and the cards and odds as little as i can. but like i said i am terrible i dont even know what a straight is so what do i know

erg, I do both. If I'm getting direct odds to draw to a hand, I'll of course call it. But you really need to go by feel and/or reads putting an opponent on a hand if you have a medium strength made hand. Also if your drawing w/out odds its gonna be based on reads/feelings if they'll pay you off (implied odds) if you hit. I think playing strictly by math or strictly by your gut is a reciepy for disaster.

I think it's kind of a combination of both. I deffinately go by pot odds, but after a while you don't have to actually do the math, you get a "feel" for whether the call is right based on your outs and the general size of the pot.

I started with a strict-tight method, incorporated more math, and the feel develops from there as your experience grows. That's the best way I can put it, I guess.

So, I agree with Yvraine.
