What would you reccomend as some good poker books to read. I was thinking of picking up some od Daniel Negreanu's books. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I play hold'em mostly online blah blah.

I don't really need a book on the basics.

I wan't to get as good as I can now so in 4 years I can start playing cash tables and not lose too much at the start.

@SeanyBullets1 Be humble? I said I thought I was decent. I didn't even say I was OK which is far from good. Even still when you have never seen someone play and don't know they're playing style I wouldn't be so quick to judge. I can understand where you're coming from though.

@tightagressive what I meant by that was I don't think it would go down to well with my parents.

I wasn't implying that you were cocky, sorry if it came off that way. But always start with a book on the basics, you'd be surprised how much it actually helps. Pick up The Theory of Poker by Sklansky and start there. But you're only what? 14? 15? Pick up a sport and worry about poker in two years or so...who knows if your interest in it will carry that long.

Small stakes holdem is a limit book, but it explains the key concepts from Theory of Poker better, and uses holdem examples.

Great book.

Getting Started in Hold'em may open your eyes to some concpets you aren't aware of.

No-Limit Holdem: Theory and Practice is a new book coming out from 2+2.
