Default Bank roll advice please

I just had a really amazing night at the tables but don't know what to do with the winnings. I doubled my BR in 3 hours. So shall i keep it all in, or withdraw some?

I'm scared now about losing it to be honest.

Thanks

I was playing above my BR, so i was thinking about possibly moving down a level to the correct BR, to protect it?

The Newbie FAQ will answer all you questions about the numbers.

If you are a winning player that does not take large wild swings, those recommendations should (95%+ confidence) keep you from going broke.

But as I have said to other posters here, If you were able to double your bank in 3 hours, then either you were on a super hellacious run, or you are playing way above your bank. Probably both. Figure out what games you are playing, and what your BR reqs are, and stay within them.

If you are afraid of going broke, then you are playing scared, and in this case I think this is healthy. Since you should now be playing within your bank if you stay at the same game, You should have little (or at least less) fear of going broke.

Thanks marm.

Well my BR was at 200. Was playing 1/2 limit, and got up to 400 playing 3 tables.

So I spose .5/1 is the "proper" limit to play with $400???

I,m a winning player normally but never to that extent, I just seemed to hit all my cards.

I actually lost about $25 too as i'm not that used to playing 3 tables and occasionally hit the wrong button, which was annoying, but i'm not complaining.

My friend who didnt understand the basic principle of poker bought for 200 $ on Party Poker and played .5/1 tables. He also doubled his bankroll in few hours but I was gasping of horror seeing how he was playing.

It was luck really.
Feeling confident he tried 1/2 tables and lost everything in few hours.

I have 600 $ in my BR and I still play Pokerstars 0.10/0.25 NL tables
Or course there is a difference if you are playing Limit

Just know that :

Player playing UNDER his "confort" limit has tendency to play more loose and be more aggressive

Player playing OVER his "confort" limit has tendency to play more tight and be less aggressive

Now its your job to find what is your confortable limit

You should be complaining or you should change of habit

Im not a great fan of multi tabling because I want to control the table im playing on. When you play multi tables you have tendancy to play simply the cards or positions. In pokerstars you can search for where the players are playing and when I notice someone multi-tabling, I can outplay him much more because he pay less attention to the action, take less time to think about his move and more likely to make mistakes.

Yes I think 2 tables is ample, as i folded hands by accident on the river when i tried too many.

I've won on 1/2 and higher limits consistantly in the past, i was really wondering what the best thing is to do after a big win?

I have actually cashed in the 200 i won and will continue 1/2 with 200 but only on two tables tonight not 3 as it was annoying pressing the wrong buttons due to screens popping up all over the place.

Check my "When to move up" thread in the FAQ. It'll give you some guidelines on how to approach those inbetween BR's.
