I currently have celebpoker, betsson and partypoker installed. I was thinking about playing for real money for the first time. What could you guys recommend doing with 50$?

• Any specific places to play?
• How much to play for out of the 50$?
• Any tips?

My naiv goal is work the 50$ up to 10K in 6 months.

I'd say deposit on casino.net (poker tab). play 500 raked hands at the TRY limit tables and walk away with $150 That's how I started.

I calculated that I need to win 25% of my bankroll each week to have 10k after 6 months.

In theory, after 1 year the bankroll should be >2million. But that's in theory. lol

I don't think there are any tables with buy-ins over 500$.

The casino.net method is a good way to get a quick bankroll (HORRIBLE site though, and I don't know how clearable the bonus is with just $50), so is PokerSourceOnline.com (insert cheap plug for a referral here).

As far as playing, I'd put it on PokerStars and grind it out in limit. It's a great place to start because .10/.25 limit does not have a rake, so you can make money a lot faster there.

this is how i(and im sure many more here) built their bankrolls and if it werent for Pokerroom being rigged( ) and the ensuing tilt it caused, id prob be at this figure already

Edit: just reread your post and see ur playing real money for the first time - above may not be the best way to go about things until you get a feel for risking real cash every time you sit down.......you should still have a read of above link and when u feel ur ready to jump from site to site, go for it

I think the software is great. And the bonus is very easy clearable with $50, takes 2.5 hours two tabling at the shorhanded limit games.

I don't know if you've been playing the play money tables up until now but real $ plays a little different. I would suggest finding a site that allows you to play at very small limits. Pokerstars has no limit tables down to .01/.02 and limit at .02/.04 (Party has beginner tables but you can only stay there for so long). See how you do at those limits for a while, turn that $50 into $150-200 then consider clearing some bonuses.

Also read the FAQ sticky at the top of the newbies section about bankroll requirements and when to move up. It's very easy to take some money, play at a limit where your bankroll can't handle the swings and go bust.

Whatever you do dont put it on Party. The lowest limit is .50-1.00. Although you can play their new player lower limits. I would stick with a site that has at least .10-.20 limits.

I would say if you only have $50 play on pokerstars they have clean software and some pretty loose low stakes games. I would also say be prepared to lose your first deposit. Id be surprized if anyone on this site is still playing with thier first deposit, it takes a little time to get the hang of real money tables.

pokerstars. .01-.02 or .02-.04 games are easy.
party poker you wont have enough $ to gamble properly
