what are these satellite tournaments i keep seeing and whats the difference between them and regular tournaments..

and the tourneys that offer rebuys how does that work.. i have an idea but no clue exactly how they work.. im thinking you pay the buy-in amount a couple times during the tournmanet right??.. exactly how and why ..whats the difference in wins

Satellites are basically mini tournaments that allows you to enter bigger ones if you you win, for example if there's a satellite for a seat at the WSOP with a $1000 buy in. You put up a $1000 if you win your entry fee for the WSOP is paid for.

Rebuys are tournaments that have the option for you to pay what it cost you to buy in at certain points in the tournament for more chips. You do this to keep your chip count up and it increases the prize pool.

You're right but the WSOP satellites aren't usually that easy for regular people.

You see all these advertisements and promos and stuff where you can win a seat into the WSOP for as little as $8. Well, you also have to play like 6 tournmants to get all the way, haha.

For example:

$8 Satellite > $130 Satellite > $500 Satellite > $1000 WSOP Tournament

And rebuy's work only when you fall before the starting stack.

right, a rebuy means if you lose your chips you have the option of paying the rebuy fee, usually the same or similar to the buy-in, and you are given the same amount of chips you started with.
this differs from an add-on, which means you get the option at a certain period to add more chips to your stack, but you have to still be in the tournament.,
