I was told that if I deposited an amount up to $400, they would equal my deposit.
What they didn't tell me was that in order to see the $100 they promised me, I would have to spend $1000 on fees, which means gamble about $10,000.
In other words, their great sign-up bonus amounts to a limited one percent kickback of the money gambled.
While this is obviously a weak bonus, the part that disturbs me is how misleading their offer is.

It's the same at most poker sites, you get a 100% bonus that you have to earn at $5 or $10 at a time.

Most deposit bonuses have play through requirements, some bonuses(at 888) give you instant money.

I've been preaching about the bull shit poker sites pump you full of for a while now. Deposit bonuses, "free" poker money, and every other poker room promotion, are all pretty much bullshit! All are misleading and designed to get more money out of you!
IMO most people opening a new poker account will be better off making a small deposit to get started rather than take a "free" money deal with all the strings that are attached. That way if you manage to run your roll up early it's yours, you can withdraw it. Just not the case with that "free" money. It's not yours until you meet the rooms play through requirements( neither are your winnings!). Not easy to do and hang onto your roll also! For whatever reason it seems like new signups often hit a winning streak. Call it beginners luck or whatever!
I wrote an article a few months ago you may want to read, " The Truth About Online Poker and Poker Rooms". It's on my websites.Club Site bluegaragepoker.com
