Hi there, I am posting an issue I've had with Bodog Poker since last night. I used to play exclusively bodog (due to many many fish) but have since switched to Pokerstars and UB. Last night bodog was hosting a freeroll tournament and I entered just for the kicks, I managed to get ITM but busted shortly after. My efforts were not in vain however as I managed to pull $1.20 from the field.
Being a Canadian citizen, my "e-cash" balance is reflected in CAD. It also displays my balance directly underneath in USD. Now, because of this when I was awarded my $1.20 USD it was converted to CAD and became $1.18, everything seems fine so far.
Now my issue comes when my funds are displayed in USD after the conversion. $1.20 USD became $1.18 CAD, then in turn was shown as $1.19 USD.
I am not concerned about the $0.01, trust me. I am just concerned about the issue in general, (my account was not credited what was listed in the tournament payouts).
I am no math wizz and thats why I am posting this here. Upon calling Bodog support I received little help from a very rude manager (interrupting me constantly) who told me the issue was a fault of how the convert the payouts into my e-cash balance, but again this makes very little sense to me.
IF
$1.20 USD to CAD = $1.18 CAD
Then should this not also be true?
$1.18 CAD to USD = $1.20 USD (Just ran it through a converter and it is infact correct.)
AGAIN, I am NOT concerned about the cent, my issue is the principle that I was not payed what was posted in the tournament lobby.

Could also be they were using an older exchange rate, or a newer one (ie you had an old one, or the server is based in a time zone that has already changed to a newer rate)
Or am I reading this right that they did multiple conversions and eventually lost some of the money?
Must be a virus then.

I think it is a simple matter of differences between two currency. Now my issue comes when my funds are displayed in USD after the conversion. $1.20 USD became $1.18 CAD, then in turn was shown as $1.19 USD.

If you can see, it is a matter of cents but what if we are talking about $100 to $500 winnings. There might be a lot of money involve and a difference of cents may be turn into dollars. But what if the difference in the deduction of service charge on their end? We cannot deny the fact that maybe it is in their rule that players should pay a certain amount of service charge. I think, for now you can just let it go, its just a matter of cents but when it involves a certain amount of dollars then its time to ask for a copy of their computation.
