Default Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker

I heard about the "potripper" scandal a few years ago. Is there anyone familiar with these sites that can tell me if they have taken enough precautions to prevent this sort of thing from happening again?

    Thanks

AP seemed OK to me, but there weren't any tables above 25nl, so you're pretty limited in your growth. On the plus side, there's worse players, on the bad side more bad beats

more bad beats!? Impossible... (I hope) I have taken my share, as I know everyone else has too.

    Thanks for the reply

The Cereus Network --UB and Absolute Poker-- have changed owners twice since the scandals, and basically cleaned house. At this point I would say they are as reputable as any other poker room.

However if you are looking for a new US-friendly site mgiht i suggest Lock Poker, which I recently reviewed --they have an extra layer of security --your funds are only accesble by entering a PIN and secret question-- they offer sharkscope stats ON THE SITE, as well as track all of your sites. Rakeback paid daily by the site is nice too. Jesus, I sound like a shill for Lock Poker

Competition is really loose aggro and the game selection is good. I can also get you into 4 $10,000 freerolls with a bonus code I have so long as you deposit $50. I don't know if they would consider it spam if I post the code so you'll have to contact on your own

AP has a lot of tables above 25nl. Don't know why anyone would think otherwise.

Because in the times I played there were only 25nl and a few 50nl, maybe I just couldn't find them for some reason?

Yeah maybe. Maybe it was a a long time ago or something? I know they have them now. A lot of people play the 50nl and even 100nl on AP.

Maybe it was right after all the scandals, player base at an all-time low.

Oh well, they got'em now, which is great. Any incentives to join going on right now for OP?

They do a weekly freeroll for people who make their first deposit. Either 1500 or 1000 guaranteed. I remember about a year ago when me and my dad both made our first deposit the same week, I came in 12th and he came in 5th in that tourney. So it was nice to win a little bit of money right off the bat. It is usually around 200 people that play in that. Also, they have the 150% bonus like most sites. You get that bonus $5 at a time but still not bad.
