Dont get me wrong ive had my faaaaair share, but you got to take it as when you fluke a hand. What i wanna ask is, what are the pros (or the people making profit) doing that im not? i dont get it. been playin properly a week and a bit, i know im a noob. Bought in 20$ (fulltilt) <got caught up in the glamour of it, plus the 100% bonus was an incentive> was either that or partypoker. i think i chose the lesser of 2 evils. With the bonus (4$)im still at 20$ with a past deficit of 4-5$ in the first 3-4 days, after chasing money. BAD DECISION. tho i did win some back. what i wanna know is how to not stay stuck. i play pretty tight, safe. AK and all that, but i cant seem to get into any profit. i play mainly $1.20 buy in sit and gos 9 players, cause i think it takes away the bad beats. played my first $2.20 buyin, came 2nd, that made me level again. i generally know about pot odds and that, but i only tend to use it when i have to call some1. i dont really use it when im betting. i tend to wing it. i can fold good cards, AA and that when i think im beat, also is there a difference between an agressive player and a bluffer, in the way they play? or is that the benifit of the play?
i had K J re-raised 3x BB , flop was 6, K, 4 off suit and i bet 3/4 the pot, and he raised all in. i'd watched him a while and known he was an aggresive player. But in the end i folded, figuring<hopefuly> he'd a better kicker, if not 2 pair. Am i too much of a wimp?
To summarise sorry, im pretty stuck. do i take more of a risk playing in bigger pots, whilst writing this, forgetting the deposit bonus, im actaully down $4,
how do i become a more profitable/better player?

Something other than moaning about bad beats

First off, anyone here will tell you, absolutely do NOT play SNGs unless you have >40 buyins. We're serious. Playing with less is horrible.
Second, SNGs have crazzzy variance. The relatively low stack to blind ratio makes people gamble way more. You may want to try out the $.01/.02 cash game tables. That's the best place to put your good tight playing skills to use.

just won my biggest pot $9 in a $2.40 sng, basking in my glory lol

i quite like playin sngs though, i find most my success comes from it, not really sure why but i think its cause its less focused on commiting money. like i commit $2.40 to the pot for like hour-1 1/2 hours playing, instead of 1 hand on a ringgame and on the off chance of a bad beat losing it in a time span of 1 minute. kinda limits your earnings, which is good and bad. but better safe than sorry.
Does it really matter how many buyins you have before you play sngs? doesnt it just matter what your rate of earnings to losses are? cause if you really needed 40*buyins (im talkin about $1-3 sngs) the fact that you needed 40* buyin isnt good.
also cheers for replying
