I'd bet my life on it that Poker Stars is rigged. Maybe not the tournies...but I know without a doubt the satelites are rigged. That's where they control their player base anyways. Bc they let the low level donks win more there in turn keeping them as long term players. They're making billions and U.S. players make up 80% of the players. And the U.S. gov has no say in the matter. If Poker Stars ever got busted they would keep all the billlions and not even get in trouble.
-Oh and im ranked top 5 at a small site and win every year bettin sports
Need I remind you...that's billions is generational money. And it was rigged way before the poker boom anyways. The software somehow balances the wins in sng's and satelites. Or you could say balances the fun. Also notice how no pros on tv ever say that online poker could be rigged. NOT ONE!! WEIRD!! Bc they all get paid by the sites. Just seems that someone would think it was rigged. Well anyways I'll keep getting my chips in w the best hand and have my profit controlled and also lose 65% of the races. Oh and I get in w best hand 85% of the time. They'll mute your chat for a month is you say it's rigged.
Thx Cheathole Poker Stars

I cant believe the passion that this topic fuels, going both ways (Yes it is Rigged vs. No it is not rigged).
My take is this: I have experienced BOTH in terms of the BEST and WORST that Online poker has to offer and represent. I have won Thousands of dollars on Full Tilt (and I am also a profitable LIVE tournament player, but Not Dramatically so; Cash Game Live play for me has been about a break even prospect, maybe a little bit of profit if I include the casino room comps I get in Atlantic City, lol.) BUT...I have also LOST about $1500 US EACH on Poker Stars and Doyles Room. I mean, I have not won a friggin NICKEL on those two sites, while my profit on Full Tilt is over $15K, and at this point, I have played ABOUT the same amount of time on all three sites.
I do not think that each and every game/hand is subject to "rigging" as the original poster suggested, that would be both too obvious and bad for business.
HOWEVER, the poster(s) who suggest that the "BIG PICTURE" is controlled/rigged by the sites in terms of balancing out wins and losses amongst the population in the most advantageous way for the site, and in getting PROs to go along and "sing the song" for pay, that is definitely possible.
Remember, this is an unregulated (in any conventional/legal fashion) industry that uses a rather simple and basic software system to manage its entire business. Computers and data are very easy to manipulate in this day and age, so the bottom line is, NO one can be 100% certain of anything unless you work for the companies involved. PERIOD.
Caveat Emptor speaks loud here folks.
And FYI -- The level of service these sites offer is widley varied between excellent and abyssmal, and seems to change every few months. and Doyle's Room SUCKS in terms of trying to withdraw funds, even now that they have joined Cake. The whole reason I am down 1500 bucks there is once I did try to withdraw when I was about 300 bucks UP, but they made me jump through so many hoops (I sent all info as requested which I dont mind doing, but they claimed to have "LOST" it, and then they claimed they never received it....??? wtf?) and it takes them a week and a day to answer e-mails regarding payouts.
Thats my two cents.Last edited by Da_Lord_Hates_Me; 12-10-2009 at 02:00 AM.
