ultimate bet make two unauthorized withdrawls from my bank account during the past two weeks. first they used my debit card info to withdraw funds on June 17th, 2009, when I haven't played on their site in over 3 weeks.
I notified my bank; they suggested i close my debit account and get a new card. chase, my bank, also opened a fruad clamin against them.
thought ordeal was over, but just today, i saw that ultimatebet.com again withdrew funds from my bank account, this time using an electronic check! since my debit card no longer works, these bastards used an e-check to steal from me.
thus today, i had to close my bank account altogether and open a completely new one.
I had emailed support@ultimatebet.com about two weeks ago after the first incident, but haven't heard from them at all!
Bottom Line: Do not play on ultimatebet! the company will steal from you!

I personally don't play on that site, but I would give it a shot if I didn't like FTP as much as I do. As a business UB is there to stay alive. After this scandle I am pretty sure that they have taken extreme mesures to up the security on the site.
If another scandle comes out of the site, then I know and they know that it's over for them.
As for the OP, how certain are you that somebody that you know didn't steal your banking information?! That would seem like the most likely explanation to me.

I did not know that the Kahnawake Gaming Commission was affiliated with AP and UB. They are also an authority for Aced Poker and Carbon Poker, both on the Merge network.

drunkydogy - 100% sure it was Ultimate Bet and their middleman pay transaction company. When i called the fraud claims unit at Chase, my bank, they were already aware of the scamming going on with Ultimate bet. The rep at the bank told me that they've had a number of similar complaints exactly like mine, face e-check being produced to the same bogus company. All complaints regarding that bogus company were all related to Ultimatebet.
Chase, btw, is an awesom bank; already got all of my money back. took only one day.

That is 100% correct. They can see more than just your acct. too - get this. I played Omaha Hi-Lo 2/4 bucks no limit. Had A-3-4-7, table hit 2-5-9 flop and then 6 on community. Opponent had A-2-5-K. Bets were made, raises reraised. Pot was at $200 plus change. I called and played. River was a K. Ended up folding river since pot was at $800 bills and I didn't get anything enough, except to get quartered. Guy with K said it was stupid of me to fold, since I had a shot with my A-3. There were two other people besides me in that hand. If I haad stayed, I would have had to split half the pot 3 ways. That isn't the problem tho. (Anyone with any smarts will fold when tney are going to get quartered or split tripled.) HOW DID the Kings over fives full house know what my cards were? I folded and did not play out the hand. (Also saved myself $800 bills.) This proves that UltimateBet still allows players to see others cards. There's no way in hell winner would have known my cards since they were folded, unless he can see them while they are in play>
