Default Any truth to the rumor...

That poker sites mess with variance? I play at UB and im seeing some crazy shet that has turned me into a believer. Does anybody have any information or theories as to whether these sites alter the randomness of poker fluctations? Thanks

Yes, it's all rigged. We keep playing because it's better than crack. People who make more than $1000 a month get daily reports on the config of the RNG's and other details that allow them to know how things are going to be happening that day. That is of course those that dont have the "display all hole cards" hack.

This sounds like another "Online Poker Is Rigged" question...

Check out any of the threads with a "Rigged" topic for an answer.

I used to play at UB and had to walk away from it when I could never win against a 2, 3, or 4 outer. Often I'd lose to some ridiculous runner runner scenario too. At first, I made a good return as most people are trying to give their money away. But then it became such a grind that I had to walk away. If I stayed away from confrontations I'd do well. If I got all the money on the table with a 80% chance or better, I could not win. Eventually you have to give up on it.

Sadly, I switched to pokerstars and for the first 275 games or so I made a nice return again. Now I have people calling me with no reason until the end and hitting runner runner to win. It's exactly how it happened at UB. I struggle to get a positive return for the last 50 games or so because I can't win against a 2 outer, let alone a draw or something. 50 games is a bit much to call variance.

I can tell these sites mess with variance because it's so insanely....what's the word? VARIANT!

Well put. It just seems to me that with the 2 sites I have experience with so far (I'll give up on pokerstarts eventually too) they seem to clue into when you have a nice ROI. Then the variance is one way and one way only. Variance would also mean that you might win 20 95%ers in a row. When you consistently can't win them over a prolonged period of time... well then there is no variance and you have to question what is going on.

I think the sites still let good players have a positive return. And bad players will never have a positive return. But they try to level the playing field to not discourage the donks and lose A LOT of business.

That's my impression after a few years of grinding out some money at this painful game.

I have an MIT friend that made a program to see people hole cards.
