Default Please Respond...

I don't see how anyone can consistantly win playing online poker. The bad beats are just nuts!!! I know everyone will respond saying over time..over time...but I don't see it yet. Can't build my bankroll at all. When I start winning, it's bad beat after bad beat. My last 10 tournies (all 30.00 buyin or more - sit n gos and multis) I've been knocked out when I was up 80% or more when the $$$ all went in. And then my good hands will hold for a bit..then the bad beats hammer me. It's a patter that has been going on for 2 years now. I know there are online players who win tons..and I don't see how they do it. Unless they are the idiots sucking out vs me. Is the key to get all in with the worst hand??

Sorry to rant, but so far my three tournies tonight I've lost with AK vs A10 (all in preflop) AA vs JJ (all in preflop) and AA vs 10 9 (board was 9 7 2 when all in).

Any advice??

Tourneys/sngs are mega variance, perhaps try some cash instead. Post some hands for analysis, the bad beats don't go on forever.

eg obga who posts here is a winning sng player and had a 25+ buyin downswing.

was in the FT Big Double tourny (the two 60.00 + 15.00) and about 1 hour had past, I was about 1500 in chips and got AA on the SB. All folds to me. Blinds were 50.00 so I raised 300 to big blind (kinda scared to play AA cause last night I got knocked out of a 30.00 mulit with AA vs JJ all in preflop). BB calls the extra 250 with 10 9 suited. Flop is 9 7 2 no spades.) I push with my remaining 1200 and he calls. Hits J on turn and 8 on river to make his straight. I got in with approx 80% odds once again and lost.

A lot of serious SNG players play 1000+ STTs a month (over 30 a day), and even winning players at that rate will have losing months. Don't worry about 10 tourneys without a win. If you let it get to you, it will turn into 12 tourneys without a win.

Just stick to what you know, be happy that you got your money in good, and it WILL work out.

Also, what Piv said.

Thanks for the advice guys. However, it's been way more than just 10 tourines. It has been a patter for a good year now. HAHAHAHA. AS WE SPEAK. Just got knocked out of a tourny with AK vs AQ all in preflop. Like I said....I just dont see how anyone can win consistantly. And I"m not kidding about the AK vs AQ TYPICAL BS.

Funny thing...exact same type of hand (my AK vs AQ and my AA vs 10 9). In both cases, the idiot who was dominated, caught runner runner for straights. I know..more hands more hands. But I've been playing on FT for a LONG TIME and it's the same ole sh!t. Odds just don't play out IMO. for whatever reason. I refuse to believe there are this many bad beats in live.

Just lost 90% of my stack on the final table (only top 6 get paid) with my AK vs AJ all in preflop. Idiot catches a J on the river to win. THen lose AQ to 5 2 on the next hand all in preflop. PLEASE...someone tell me this is just bad luck. NO WAY....NO WAY..this many bad beats happen live. JUST UNREAL. You can't play anything.....

Honestly in my oppinion (and this is just my humble oppinion so don't go getting offended lol) but I find that when I get in a rut I start thinking that I'm going to get sucked out on and it seems to happen more often than usual, the same as when I think positive hands seem to hold up more, maybe I'm just crazy ha ha. And not to nit pick but I notice that you seem to get it all in preflop with AK often, which yes you do have the other guy brutalized when he has A10 or AQ but it is still only A high, I know I used to get it in preflop with AK a lot too, but now I've stepped back and analyzed that and realized that I prefer to see a flop first. Thanks for reading, hope this might help you somehow.

Well boys. Another night of playing online poker and having the best hand after best hand sucked out. I must have lost 150.00 tonight - EVERY tourny losing with a dominating hand. I hate to start agreeing with all those X-FILES guys saying online poker is not 100% legit, but come on.
