I think this is a MAJOR mistake. A very wrong perspective to take. You should do whatever you can to make the fish better players. Do NOT worry about sharks. You attract the fish and the sharks will come. That's a fact. You get really good fish-helper features and the fish will play better. You (and sharks) want happy fish. They will stay at your poker site longer and make you more money. They will talk to their friends about how great your poker site is and those friends will come to it. Besides, what do you (the poker site owner) care if the fish play better or not? You make your money off of rake so all you should be concerned about is increased action.

Put an odds-of-winning stat right under the player's cards. This stat being pre-flop without taking into consideration the other bidders but does take into consideration the number of players at the table. However, to the right of that clean stat put a second stat percentage based off of what's taking place on the table and it changing as action develops. Yes, I know this second stat is guesswork but fish will love it. And put two stats under all the other players based on what is known to the table (what's overt) about that player's history since they have been at that table.

One of those other-player stats being their bluff stat (the odds they're bluffing). Let the player even know their own overt bluff stat that the other players are seeing to the right of their name/avatar. Will sharks get upset about you telling this stat? The dumb ones will but not the smart ones. There is nothing I like more than an overconfident fish at the table. The smart sharks will naturally not be blind to all that's going on and will then use all these stats to their table image advantage. My guess is that you will see sharks showing their bluffs every single time to drive up their bluff stat as high as possible. I know I would.

The second other-player stat being a fold stat. This also based off of the overt play by that player since coming to the table. What are the odds they will fold if you raise.

And tout these fish-helper features in your marketing! This will draw fish to you probably more than anything else you can do. People like to win and you're basically saying that you're trying to help them win as much as you can.

I am also looking at a few choices of table view so a simplified version of the table may be available when playing multiple tables as to fit on the screen better. Tiling of course will be included and I will focus on the whole pop up of the screen next to act when you are typing on another screen as this has been brought up frequently.
I would strongly suggest you completely get rid of the table graphic when people multi-table. Just a row of player names ... and under that line, what they're bidding (putting an "X" for those that have folded) ... and under that line, how money they have left at the table. [And, if they select the option to see them, the stats I suggested earlier.] Keep it simple, clean and easy to read. This way you can have more tables shown on a computer screen at the same time. Remember, you don't care who wins what since you make all your money off of rake. Multi-tablers mean more rake for you. Let them multi-table as much as possible.

Help desk should be live chat 24/7 also an automated feature to right click on a problem player and send a complaint to management about that particular player. So for example you right click on the player and can put them on chat ignore and it will ask you if its for foul language or if you suspect the player of colluding or cheating in some way and this will all be stored in a database and problem players will be spotted and dealt with quickly and efficiently.
Very good. Just don't automate judgments. And PLEASE don't ban people for foul language. Fish get upset and will swear. Let them swear. Let them call me whatever they like. They're human so let them be human. You ban a fish and that's money (a.k.a. rake) you're turning away and a player that will never return. However, for those with sensitive ears, offer an option where if you've marked down someone as a foul-mouth, the option will silence chat from that person. BUT have a little button next to that person that can click off this censor if the player would like to hear what they're now saying.

Same thing with offensive images. Let people post what they want for their avatar. But for those with sensitive eyes, have an option where they won't see images you've marked as offensive. And to help you spot offensive images, keep track of how many have selected "block image" on players. I know I block images sometimes but I don't think I'd ever report someone for an offensive image. If you want to get more selective on this, I would give the reporter of the offensive image a selection of reasons why they found the image offensive. "Disgusting", "Female nudity", "Male nudity", and "Purposely offensive" would be what choices I'd give. This would then allow players to allow certain "offensive" images and not others. For example, I'd allow "Female nudity" images through.

    Other suggestions:

+ Don't just give a last-hand graphic but enable people to click through the progression of that hand. Have two sets of navigation buttons on the past-hand pop-up screen. One that goes from hand to hand, but the other that enables you to see what happened in a hand. Bid/fold by bid/fold. I would get a lot of information from such a feature. In fact, I'd like this feature so much that I'd like an interface option that would always show the table and next to it the last-hand graphic. No overlapping last-hand graphic but one that would enable me to see what's currently going on at the table while at the same time reviewing past hands.

+ Have all your freeroll tournaments be totally-free (only registration required) and allow people to purchase re-buys and add-ons. This puts more money into the prize pot thus making your freerolls even more attractive for people to enter AND is a way for you to make money off of your freerolls by taking a small rake off of such purchases.

But the biggest thing that will make or break your poker site is marketing. I don't care how great is your software ... even if it has all the features above. What matters is how many players you have at your site. If your poker site resembles a ghost town, that's all it will ever become. Do NOT stupidly think: "If I build it, they will come." That only works in the movies. It doesn't matter if you have a better mousetrap if no one knows you have it. Only by people knowing you have it MIGHT they beat a path to your doorstep. So what I would like to know is how big of a marketing budget do you have. If you want to attract serious online poker players (a.k.a. sharks), this is something I would promote prior to your poke site's grand opening. it will draw sharks to check out your site since you are telling them how much you will be spending to draw fish to it.

Oh, and if you do have a MAJOR marketing budget behind you, fire me a PM as I have other suggestions for you. But if you only have a small budget or, worse of all, you're taking the "If I build it, they will come." mentality, we would be wasting both of our time chatting.

    Good luck!

Good luck with business venture... I recommend looking into G2G and do the oposite of everything they did. Start by not partnering with morons. So, how many online poker sites would this make?

cashouts seem o be a major issue

if a site can take 3 crdit card deposits instantly or a bank deposit ie bpay into party , why should it take 2 weeks and u needing to send in a photo of your underpants that you are currently wearing to withdraw half of what you deposited ?

allso if you are not using third party software hand historys are pretty important
they should be easy to read and easily to access

scrolling down partys text while multi tabling can be a pain

I'd like the option to buy in for >100BBs for HSP-esque action.
