Default Party Poker players please read.

First off, if this is in the wrong area or this subject has been brought up before, I apologize. I'm new here and this is my first post.

I want to talk about pre-flop raising and the bad beat jackpot tables at Party Poker.

Last week I stopped by a friends place and he was in the middle of playing a .25/.50 jackpot table so I sat down to watch him play a few hands. He was in the middle of telling me how great he was at poker when he was dealt a 2C 5C with the BB. It was a six player table and the first three players folded while the player with the button went all-in with his remaining $2 and change. The player with the SB raised it up to $6 and my friend naturally folded. The flop showed AC 10H 4C. The turn 3C. The river AD. The two remaining players in the hand showed KK and AA.

That big pre-flop raise cost everyone at the table thousands of dollars.

For this reason I am begging any of you Party Poker players out there to adjust your game when playing on the jackpot tables. I play the .10/.25 jackpot tables everyday and every three to five hands I see someone make a big pre-flop raise. On the regular tables I can understand that but you play the jackpot tables for the chance to win a piece of the jackpot. You can't play quite the same way on a jackpot table as you do on a regular table.

Together, with your help, we can put an end to big pre-flop raising on the jackpot tables [insert photo of Sally Struthers holding third world poker player].

    LOL.

A 3x raise is obv "big raising". Is this a request for constant minraising at jackpot tables?
For Free Money, Rakeback and some 6x Ongame bonuses, I recommend PokerSource.

I recommend Cardrunners for superb poker coaching. It was honestly the single biggest improvement in my game signing up there! Sign-up fee might seem steep, but it pays itself back within weeks.

    A $6 pre-flop raise is a little more than 3 times a $0.50 BB.

    pray tell, how did it?
Had it not been for a pre-flop raise of 12 times the BB my friend would have seen a straight flush draw on the flop and would have checked/called pretty much anything to see the 3C, which did come up on the turn. The final result would have been:

Player with the SB - Four aces

    My friend - Straight flush

That is what is called a "bad beat" and every player at that jackpot table would have won thousands of dollars.

That's a 4x raise from the button and a 3x re-raise from the SB, completely standard.

Yes you can. Donks play the jackpot tables to try for a -ev shot at scooping it (the contribution is ridiculous considering the chances of actually hitting it). Good players play the jackpot tables to rinse the fish who are playing above their limits. If anything you raise more at a jackpot table to isolate these fish and let them make mistakes postflop.

I dont think you can realistically expect thousand of ppl to play shitty poker on the off chance their big raise might make someone fold a straight flush when their opponent has 4 aces...
