Default Cake Poker + Poker Tracker

OK, so I've read a few posts on here where people have said they wish PT supported Cake. I went over to the PokerTracker forums and saw that Pat was going to work on it, but some things in the hand histories from Cake were preventing him from getting anything going. Several posters sent emails to Cake support asking for them to work with Pat, but the response from Cake was that they felt PT was cheating and that hell would freeze over before they'd work with him.

Of course, I see this as an opportunity. I am currently exploring the possibility of writing a program that would import Cake hands into PT. I'm about 95% sure I'm going to write it. The gist of what I'm working on is:

    - Since PT doesn't have Cake loaded as a site, I would allow the player to choose which site they want Cake hands imported as. There are currently 19 loaded sites. I don't think too many players play at all 19.

    - I've seen people have written scripts that would convert Cake HHs to other sites' histories. Unfortunately, I find that too constraining and a non-starter if the player has hands for that site already. Plus, I tried this about a year ago for a site I used to play on. It failed due to Pokerstars screennames having a smaller allowed length.

    - The replayer in PT would probably not work with these imported hands.

    - I don't think PAHud or GT+ would work either.

    - It's possible that Pat would support Cake after this program is written the same way you need other programs for sites like UB and Bodog.

    - At first, I'm only going to support ring games, but I would add tourney support soon after.

    - If this is successful, I might write importers for other sites (PKR maybe), and other games (Omaha, Stud)

So, does anyone think that a program such as this would not be successful? I see it as a way to get a bankroll back.

Is anyone willing to send me hand histories from Hold'em cash games (limit, no-limit, pot-limit) so that I can start writing the process to parse the histories to populate the PT database?

Is anyone willing to beta test this once I get it ready (and I'm talking at least a month frmo now, maybe longer)?

    Lemme know what you think.

No feedback for this project? Or maybe nobody here plays on Cake anymore.

Well, I don't like it a lot but it pays until now.

What's your plan for the completed program? Honestly I think it would be really bad for the games if something like this were available to the general public (and by that I mean 2+2).

I am eventually going to release it to the general public. I was thinking that around $10-$15 would be a fair price for it (PFO members would obviously get a discount and anyone who helps with testing will get the program free), assuming I can get it working properly. Of course, that is still a ways away. I'm still in development. I hope it will be ready for testing in 3-5 weeks with release a month or two after that.

    Currently,

The user can choose which PT database to import to.
The user can choose which pokersite to import as (This may change if I can just create the Cake Poker site in PokerTracker.)
The program monitors the hand history folder for any changes. As soon as a hand is written to disk, the program picks it up and imports it, unlike the auto-import in PT that checks every few minutes.
Upon release, I'll only support cash holdem games, but I hope to add tournament support as well. If the demand is out there, I'd add Omaha and Stud, but that probably won't happen.

    Some issues to overcome:
Cake does not list hand date/time, stakes, or type of game in their histories. To overcome this, the player is going to have to tell the program (upon manual import or at the beginning of auto-import) whether he is playing limit, NL, or PL. Stakes can be derived from the history. Date/time is easy for auto-import as it imports as soon as it is written to disk, but for manual, the user is going to have to estimate the date/time for either the first or last hand of the session and I will adjust the times for all other hands accordingly.
