Question best online room for real PRACTICE

    Noob here. Deal with it.

What's your favorite online room for getting real practice on starting hand strategies and pot odds?

I've been playing a few of them and it's obvious people are playing for fun with 6-person showdowns and always betting on the door card.

I don't feel ready to play even .10/.20 with real money yet.

    Thanks.

Somewhere like Pokerstars is an ideal place to start out, tons of games to choose from and plenty of players. Have a go at the lowest stake cash game (it's either 1/2c or 2/4c, I can't remember) and a few micro stake tournaments and see what you like best.
For Free Money, Rakeback and some 6x Ongame bonuses, I recommend PokerSource.

I recommend Cardrunners for superb poker coaching. It was honestly the single biggest improvement in my game signing up there! Sign-up fee might seem steep, but it pays itself back within weeks.

I just spent 2 hrs in the play room at pokerstars and that's where the 6-person showdowns (showoffs?) were happening. I started folding on weak starts then would come in on strong starts and won about half but THAT seemed to be pissing people off.

So you're recommending cheap real practice instead?

Yes. Head over to 2+2 forums and watch some of their free videos on microstakes cash games, it will give you a basic idea of how you should be playing, generally a raise or fold game. You honestly can't learn anything from play money unless you're struggling to grasp the concept of playing simple hands.

You should play, play chips on starts. SNG. If you can reach 5 million with 1000 chips, then, you are ready to play low stakes.

AND THE BEST THING ABOUT IT, YOU sell your 5 million for 50 real dollars and there you go, you have a small bankroll to start

I wouldn't think that anywhere free (and without any real prize money) would have play which is not at all representative of real money play. If you play for real money but just 1cent/2cents the play gets much better although it's still not good players in general; be a bit careful, though, in the no limit cash tables as you can be either forced to put in your whole $1 (the min you are allowed to bring to one of the 1cent/2cents tables I'm referring to on pokerstars) more often than you may feel comfortable with and so you can lose more money and more quickly than you may feel comfortable with. I like playing in $1.20 tourneys as, unless I bust fairly early (which I rarely do as I play relatively tight in those), they usually last at least 45 minutes and usually more than an hour.
