I was reading this thing about a guy (not a pro) doing a 24 hour session to see how his play differed depending on tiredness/boredness/hallucinations etc. It was very interesting and the weird thing is it has inspired me to try a 24 hour session at some point, or at least as close to 24 hours as I can manage.
Has anyone here done this kind of thing online? If so, how'd you get on and what tips can you give for someone wanting to try this?
I think I'd drop down a level to do it just incase I go on major tired super aggro monkey tilt.![]()

24 hour session
For Free Money, Rakeback and some 6x Ongame bonuses, I recommend PokerSource.
I recommend Cardrunners for superb poker coaching. It was honestly the single biggest improvement in my game signing up there! Sign-up fee might seem steep, but it pays itself back within weeks.

Link to this article?
Lots of good rakeback options at http://www.rakeguard.com/?raf=KRE8R
KRE8R probably has about seventy college funds in his NL5 roll.

I read it in pokerplayer magazine that I picked up in the airport a few days ago. This is their site, I couldn't find the article but I only looked briefly, it should be there somewhere.

24 hours is standard.
take lots of breaks, eat a lot, drinnk a lot, take pills and or liquids that give you energy for the last 5 hours.I get more ass than a toilet seat. All shapes/colors/sizes.

I used to do this on average once per week.
You play nowhere near optimally and spew EV all over the place.
But if you bonus whore you convince yourself its all OK because even though you broke even you made so much in bonus. Not recommended at all.
So when you doing it, I may join you

24h is insanity, but according to 2+2 it is not that crazy.I get more ass than a toilet seat. All shapes/colors/sizes.

my longest session was 33 hours, in which I cashed out $2800 from a 1/2 $100 max nl game.
my friend has me beat with a 40 hour session in the same game, leaving with $3300.
I don't recommend it online. It's ok in live poker because people are literally bad to the point where it doesn't matter, but online its very very easy to play tired/tilted and just not notice and keep playing.
I generally play many hours of poker a day, (at least 4, 8-10 is not uncommon) however I break it down in multiple sessions, and make sure to do stuff in between so your mind can have a break and playing so many hours isn't so mundane.
The less of a grind poker is for you, the more you are going to want to play and learn. this is very important imo.Last edited by tightagressive; 06-17-2007 at 02:42 PM.
