Do you think the parliament will vote to ban online gaming, like they did in the U.S? Economically, that was a devastating move, neteller almost went bankrupt. You know that France, of all nations, has already banned its gaming sites, under U.S pressure ?

I don''t think that it is likely to happen, because U.K legislation is more forgiving than the U.S regarding online businesses, which is weird, because the U.S has the most liberal laws regarding real casinos like in vegas and reno, but they are so hard on the online industry. Or maybe it is no coincidence…

No. They are passing laws in its favor.

UK won't ban it - the government have become too committed to it.
More importantly a recent case was made against Italy for banning online poker - and the British bookmakers took Italy to the European court arguing that they had a license in Britain and that the ban was "protectionist" and presented as a barrier to trade. The European court upheld this view. Italy now MUST allow poker playing in its country. I imagine France will have to follow suit.

Fundamentally its about money... I can see a time when poker becomes obligatory teaching in schools before theres any chance it is outlawed in the UKSee me playing $10/$20NL like it was play money

Its not like I am really worried, because there will always be European sites which accept U.K players, like this casino site.

Do you know how much of a fright I got when I read that title!
They won't ban it, at least not this government. Not sure what the tory's make of it though, if they get in at the next election (unlikely) then you never know.
They'd better not anyway. For Free Money, Rakeback and some 6x Ongame bonuses, I recommend PokerSource.
I recommend Cardrunners for superb poker coaching. It was honestly the single biggest improvement in my game signing up there! Sign-up fee might seem steep, but it pays itself back within weeks.
