How many times have you sat online playing poker where you have some
person just spouting off about how bad another player is? It is amazing
how rude some players can be to others. I don't get it. It seems like
everybody is a pro.
This happened at a table I was playing on yesterday. Player "A" got beat
by Player "B" because "B" called to the river with bottom pair and ended
up catching trips. Sure it was a bad beat but one thing was clear....that
player B was somebody that I wanted to play with because they were going
to pay me off when I caught a hand.
Anyways, "A" kept making fun of "B" until he finally ended up leaving the
table. His behavior was uncalled for and he chased a huge fish off the
table.
Maybe it is the annonimity of playing online that lets people say some of
the things they do but you don't see this stuff in a live game. So keep
this in mind before you launch on someone.....if they are truly a bad
player and you want to keep them at the table don't get into it with them.
In the long run you will end up cleaning them out.

I abuse people when I have a bad beat. I do it live too. I do it for maybe a minute or so then shut up. Just to vent. Live I am worse actually. I had a table break up once at the Borgata because I went off when some fuck mucked his cards in to my hand and made my cards dead. Then the next hand same idiot played 84o and sucked out against my pocket jacks on the turn. Called him a bunch of names and people just removed themselves from the table one at a time. I caught the Jitney to Ballys after that because I was embarrassed at how I acted.
Anyway to make a long story short I still do it. Still do it very harshly. My thing is I get it out and shut up until the next bad beat. Online sucks because they just disable your chat and I have to come here to do it.SnG Record

I made a similar post a while back, and agree completely. When a bad player sucks out, tell them what a great strategist they are, then felt them when you get a hand. When he does lose his buy-in, apologize saying you must got lucky, surely he'll win the next one, and buy him a drink. Anything to keep them at your table.

The Trop in AC is infamous for horrible table ediquite (sp.) and they actually tolerate it. Its nothing but young drunk rich kids and local drug dealers in the poker room. They threaten to kill each other etc.
Well I wasnt there but a dealer at Harrahs told me about this.
Some kid spit in a dealers face after a bad beat. The delaer sat back. Looked under the table and made sure the ante box was secure and then leaped over the table and beat the shit out of the guy.
Trust me, tempers flare live regularly. That story is extreme but its not exclusive to online play.SnG Record

Sometimes I find it quite amusing online to watch two guys bitch at eachother about the most pointless things, it stops me getting bored and tilting! Agree with you completely about driving fish off the table, annoys the hell out of me, I usually stick up for the fish if I feel he's gonna pay off. Or I follow him to his next table.

Only bad players vent
People who do that are bad players. They have no control over their emotions and doesn't have the capability of being a good poker player. Poker is about percentages, not luck. If you're 70/30 going to the flop you will win 7 out of 10 times. If it happens that you lose, then that was one of the 3. It's the dumbest thing in the world to run off the donk because then you can kiss the money you lost to him goodbye. A lot of people say that "I keep getting bad beats." The only reason people say that is because they make a big deal out of those three losses and don't make a big deal out of the 7 wins. If you want to be good at poker you have to deal with the losses. Bad beats are a part of poker because you are never 100/0 until they're drawing dead.
