Guys, I know that there will always be "ways" to get around - using epassporte, using a money order, using an off shore acct.. I realize all this.
However, the health of online poker is largely dependant on the "recreational player" - the one who is not going to open up off shore bank accts and is truly scared about the recent laws. The average Joe will just give up and find something else to do with his time/money.
So, ya, online poker will go on, but will it still remain as juicy?

Why did you guys ban it anyway? Seems a bit bizarre when you allow guns and tobacco to be legal.

Several centuries ago, all the hardcore straightlaced Puritans made the perilous crossing across the Atlantic, so they could be free to make all the harsh restrictive laws as they liked. All the sane people stayed in Europe.
This has colored the relative cultures of the two continents ever since.
