I just don't get it, these are my last 3 hands on pokerstars .... I can honestly say that getting sucked-out against isn't a rare occurance, this happens at an alarming rate ... what is it that I can do? What did I do wrong? Does anyone else have this trouble on this site or is it just me? Anything anyone can offer to find my sanity would be greatly appreciated.

Last 3 Hands on Pokerstars .... help, what can I do?
-
01-11-2007 #2
Hand 1.
You got your money in with the best hand and got unlucky. However the minimum raise you put in on the flop will often get you into trouble. After that raise he is getting 4:1 odds on a call and, especially on that board, you are letting a flush draw in at the right price. After his $2 bet he has $7 left, put him all in, then he can't draw.
Hand 2.
tbh I think you played it fine (but I do tend to get into trouble with those hands in cash games so you might want to take someone elses word for it!). You were getting huge odds for the pf call and with your stack I'm pushing that flop all day. Would anyone push that pre-flop?
Hand 3.
Fold preflop, especially when OOP. And if you do decide to raise, raise at least 4bb, you don't want action with that hand. fold to that re-raise it's just not worth it.
After deciding to play it, I think the postflop play was fine and again you were a bit unlucky. But you shouldn't have been in that hand to start with imo.
Hope that helps, and by the way, next time post these in the hand analysis section! For Free Money, Rakeback and some 6x Ongame bonuses, I recommend PokerSource.

1. Dont play j3 off
2. Dont play shortstack poker giving urself terrible fold equity to draws
3. Dont play 9To for 11BB PFIf everyone demanded peace instead of another television set, then there'd be peace.-John Lennon

I agree - fold J3o every time. It is a garbage hand - what flop are you hoping to hit? J33, JJ3 ? 7:1 don't even justify this call in my opinion.
Hand 2
This is fine. I would have probably pushed after you were re-raised preflop seeing as though you are short stacked.
Hand 3
I don't want to sound harsh, but this is an exact example of how not to play pre -flop. The initial raise from EP wasn't that bad IF you were doing it purely to mix up your play every once in a while, but usually this should be in the muck. To then call the re-raise OOP which was 25% of your stack is just giving money away. Sure, you hit this flop, but the majority of the time you're not going to hit. Even when you catch a T or a 9 there will be an overcard and your opponent has already told you that he has a premium hand.
