I have a question that maybe doesn't merit it's own thread.
How about Canada's(more specifically, Quebec, if it matters) laws about gambling?
I'm talking about some one running a live poker lounge, games 6 nights a week, some pretty high stakes. They take a rake of course and entrance fee's for tournaments.
Do I have to worry about a SWAT team busting down the door and me getting arrested while I'm there for playing a $50 tourney?

I live in Toronto, Canada.. and I've heard of couple people getting busted for running underground poker club.
I don't think there are any laws regarding online poker yet.

You'd think a moderator supposedly responsible for ensuring proper decorum on this forum would have better sense than to insult all the Canadian members of this forum. The familiar term "Ugly American" comes to mind when I see this kind of tort being aimed at my country which has on so many occations came to the aid of the USA and remains it's closest friend and ally. I am embarrassed for my American friends and relatives when I have to witness this kind of ignorance from their countymen!
Alex I would like you to search out the answers to the following:
> who came to the aid of trapped American embassy workers in Iran?
> which outside government came to the aid of numerous hurricanes in Florida, Louisanna not only with $ but building materials and volunteers?
> which country leads the naval patrols in the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman in fight against terrorism?
> Where did thousands of americans in hundreds of aircraft find a place to land on 9-11?
> who was in charge at NORAD when the 9-11 attack was being played out?
> how many hundreds of Canadian firefighters, police and EMT personnel responded to New York following 9-11?
> Who supplies the USA with MOST of it energy needs?
> what part of Mexico will the Alaska pipeline cross?
> who provides aids the US Air Force with coastal defense - the most recent being only last week when 2 CF-18s came to the aid of 4 Alaskian based F-16s intercepting a Russian Bear bomber in Alaska air-space?
There are hundreds of other examples of "Those Responsible" coming to the aid and support of our neigbor to the south. Your gesture is insulting and not appreciated so why don't you take that ignornant finger you're pointing as us and stick it up your arrogant ass?
And NO - I'd didn't see any humour in your post so it does not get excused as some kind of tasteless joke!Last edited by Aces-o-8s; 09-30-2006 at 09:03 PM.
