Default The Competition at Full Tilt

I'm finding the cash games at FTP to be a lot tougher than anywhere else I've played (Stars, UB, Party and Pokerroom.) At the same time, I'm finding the SnG competition to be way softer than anywhere else I've played.

Anyone else agree?

Havent played there but I choked when you said it's tougher than UB. From what I've heard UB is the rock garden of rock gardens.

Well I wouldn't say that the players are tighter than those at UB, they just seem more skilled. They play back at me more, my c-bets get no respect, they'll re-raise me with second pair or even underpairs.

At stars, a lot of hands go...

1. Raise PF.
2. 2 players call.
3. Both players check to me.
4. I bet.
5. Both players fold.

It just doesn't seem to go down that way at FTP.

FTP players are strong preflop players, but they can't laydown 2 beautiful cards unless you overuse the "bet pot" option. I don't care what you have in your hand. If you're always betting the pot with 1 pair, you're only getting action by hands that beat you a lot of the times. Incorporate probe bets into your game and you'll get the reactions you want.

I love FTP's cash games. They're getting fishier because traffic is rising. You'll develop your postflop play and you've played a lot on UB, so that's a little crash course..

The SnG's are great there. I just love their slow-rising blinds in general. Allows for a lot of poker to be played and people constantly think they're shortstacked when they're not because they can't do the math.

Default Set-Up Hands

The problem at Full Tilt Poker, as well as every other site that I play is that they are not realistic. The percentage of suck outs at Full Tilt is five to ten times higher than in a casino game. The percentage of straights and flushes is also significantly higher than in casino games. And now Full Tilt thinks that every flop has to contain a pair. Who thought that one up? The percentage of pairs on initial flops during the past couple of months is laughable. Are there any online sites that have random deals and flops? Otherwise, it is a much different game than casino hold 'em.

Default from an Idiot

Sorry to disappoint you, but I am neither a sir nor an idiot, rather the female dean of mathematics with a specialization in statistical analysis at a pretigious university, who is married to a professional poker player and has been commissioned to study online gaming. The study involves 25,000 hands from different sites and casinos.
