Negreanu was steam-rolling the tables for most of days 2 and 3 in the 6-handed Limit Hold' Em event, before his cards turned ice cold. In the heads-up battle, Brock Parker kept slicing chunk after chunk out of Daniel's stack, and finally captured the title when his AJ bested Negreanu's KT on an AT6 flop.

Daniel, always a crowd favorite was his usual jovial self until the frigid run of cards, and horrible luck when he did have the goods. In one hand Negreanu and Parker ended up chopping the pot on 467-5-3 board: Daniel held QQ: Parker held J6.

Negreanu was becoming visibly upset towards the end of the tournament, as he know doubt felt a golden opportunity slipping through his grasp. Also on 'Kid Poker's" mind was a chance to make up for a terrible season on High Stakes Poker, and turn his luck around.

Parker walked away with $223,000, and his first WSOP bracelet (he cashed in 5 previous WSOP events). Parker, a strong Limit Hold' Em tournament player, finished 6th in last year's $10,000 Limit Hold' Em championship; and 3rd in the 2004 WSOP $1,500 Limit Hold' Em Shootout.

Negreanu pocketed just over $138,000 for the second place finish. Former Cardplayer CEO Barry Schulman finished in 5th place: Schulman has 1 WSOP bracelet (2001, 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo), 7 final tables, and 12 WSOP cashes.
