Default Phil Hellmuth's new poker book

This appears to be the most interesting poker book to hit the market in quite some time. Phil Hellmuth's latest contribution to the poker world is a collection of autobiographical accounts from 20 top poker players; detailing their trials and tribulations as they climbed to the top of the poker food chain.

Deal Me In (available to order online), features first person narratives from 20 top professionals, including seven world champions: Hellmuth, Nguyen, Eastgate, Doyle Brunson, Johnny Chan, Chris Ferguson, and Carlos Mortensen, and some of the most recognizable names in poker: Ivey, Cunningham, Tom Dwan, Howard Lederer, Daniel Negreanu, and Layne Flack.

Also featured are female players Annie Duke, Jen Harman, and Annette Oberstad; and lesser known pros like Dave Ulliot, Chad Brown, Erik Seidel, and Chau Giang.

“Each player gives you a behind-the-scenes look into their early years as scrappy, amateur players and how they broke into the big-time professional ranks,” said Hellmuth. “The pros cover their humble beginnings, the obstacles they overcame, the demons they faces, and ultimately the success they enjoyed.”

You'll read about Allen Cunningham's days as pizza delivery driver, how Peter Eastgate was a substitute teacher, Chau Giang's days working at KFC, and apparently Hellmuth used to clean monkey cages!

Featuring everything from Hellmuth staking out a laundry mat to meet his wife, to Scotty Nguyen's days in war torn Vietnam, and Jen Harman's disapproving father, Deal Me in offers a complete look at the players rise to the top of their profession.

With a mixture of light moments and regrets, Deal Me In looks to be a very interesting read indeed. Deal Me In was written by Marvin Karlins and Stephen John, with an introduction by Jack McClelland. It was published by Phil’s House Publishing and can be previewed and pre-ordered online at www.pokerbrat.com. The book will be shipped to customers in mid-June.
