A lot of you have been wondering what on earth happened to the durrrr/Antonius heads-up PLO matchup.
Dwan and Antonius: Still playing, just... er, not often.
Well, as far as everyone is aware the game is still on – however, neither of them wish to play while there are $500/$1,000 tables going. Dwan could probably play six or seven $500/$1,000 tables without too much trouble in addition to the PLO challenge and playing at ‘Stars at the same time but Antonius probably doesn’t want to.
Here are the standing statistics from the match-up:
Data from Two Plus Two
Session 5:
Table 1) TD -$6,355.00 PA +$6,344.00 50 hands
Table 2) TD -$58,401.50 PA +$58,391.50 56 hands
Table 3) TD +$63,044.50 PA -$63,056.00 56 hands
Table 4) TD -$7,885.50 PA +$7,874.00 64 hands
34 minutes 226 hands
TD -$9,597.50 PA +$9,553.50
Total to date:
TD +$140,380.50 PA -$141,252.00 13h7m 4,172 hands

I think they didn't think through just how long it would take to play 50,000 hands! they both have to coordinate their schedules, and it's not like they aren't both busy people.
they played 4,000 hands so far!?!?!?!?!Read my musings on poker and life at Online Poker Examiner, Poker Examiner, PokerNewsBoy.com, and My Poker Blog

This will probably take a year to finish... And on top of that, he has Ivey waiting in the wings.
Durrr didn't think this out clearly... I bet they'll call it off.

What is the context of this challenge? Why is it happening to begin with?

Seems a little bit far fetched, but having a 50k hand history on your opponents could give you an advantage in the long run.

It has to get called off eventually cause if it carries on at this rate no one will give a damn who's winning in a few months time
