While we have a dedicated section for members to coordinate the transfer of funds, in no way do we promote or encourage doing so. However, we also understand that due to the nature of online poker, members inevitably trade funds regardless of our recommendations.
As such, we created this dedicated area for money transfers. We also recently added a feedback mechanism called Trader Ratings in order to help protect users from being ripped off.
Transfer Forum Rules
1. We are NOT responsible for any transactions made in this forum. We encourage all members to be "Buyer Beware".
2. This forum is for poker sites and e-wallet money transfers only. It is NOT to be used to ask for loans or staking.
3. Please create a separate thread for each transaction. For example, if you want to trade FTP for PokerStars and find somebody who replies and successfully trades $100 with you, but you still have another $100 you want to trade, please create a new thread.
Transfer Forum Guidelines
The following are guidelines which we recommend you follow before you take part in any transfer.
1) If contacted by someone claiming to be a member of PokerForums.org through an instant messenger or e-mail, it is advised that you get them to contact you via the Private Messaging system on the forum to make sure that they are indeed that member.
2) Use the ratings system to check for members who have traded successfully before. The higher the number, the more successful transfers they have made and the more likely they are to be trusted. In addition, you may want to view some of the individual comments and threads to see the amount of money exchanged; if most of the trades are for $5 and then that person wants to trade $500, you may want to proceed very cautiously.
3) Only transfer in amounts that you are prepared to risk losing.
4) If you are scammed by someone, notify the poker site as this may help prevent them scamming anyone in future although it will likely not help in the current situation. Also, leave feedback here using the trade ratings and make a post in the relevant thread about it.
5) Always leave feedback using the ratings system so that other members will know who can/cannot be trusted to trade. Include the amount of the trade in the feedback. If you leave positive feedback for somebody, make sure they return the favour and leave feedback for you as well!
6) We recommend only trading with members who have posted in the forum, since in order to gain posting access to the forum, members must have been registered for 30 days and have made 100 posts on the forum. This does not mean that you are not still taking a risk whenever entering into a trade.
7) All transfers are arranged entirely at the two parties' own risk. The two parties are responsible for investigating the creditworthiness and honesty of the other. As previously stated, we would encourage all members to be "Buyer Beware" before getting involved in a transaction.
8) Fill out your screennames for the various cardrooms by going to Profile -> Edit Profile. Currently, you can fill out their usernames for the following rooms: PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker, Ultimate Bet, PartyPoker, and CakePoker. Filling this information out will help other members trust you more when trading as they can look your username up on "scam lists".
