Hiya!
I am (obviously) new here and this is my first post. Residence: Sweden, Work: Systems Engineer, Mathematician.
Hobbies: Music, BB, Movies, Sci-Fi Pulp Fiction (Perry Rhodan)
Started out years 'n years ago with no-limit draw (Ring), at first homegames - then brick & mortar.
Right now Limit TH Ring (not so much b&m anymore, because at the local casino here it's (except for the summer months): Shark eat Shark.
I am relatively new to online poker. Mostly Limit TH $0.50/$1. Tried different sites. '888' is adequate, 'Titan' is OK, I'm wondering how 'PKR' is (except for the Poker SIM layout).
Tools I use: Holdem Manager, Poker Academy. Would appreciate tips though! :-)
So: I am always on the lookout for 'fishy' sites where one can make an average $10 or more per hour with fairly good play. So please don't be shy and recommend good ponds... ;-)
I have no experience at all when it comes to Tournament Poker and very, very limited experience with No-Limit.
Would like to try Omaha. Have tried 7-card Stud but I'm not getting it, i.e. I suck at it.
I am open to questions of all sorts, of course also non-Poker related :-)
Short term Poker goal: Making an average of $100 per week playing online.
Have a nice evening!

Hi Party Poker is pretty fishy, though is best for tournament poker. You get a lot of traffic in there as tournaments are good and this helps fill up side games but is really important to watch for the sharks as there are some really good players there look up mybigguns for an example, in each hand you can be playing against vastly different qualities of players but if you track properly and observe well you should be okay. Basically many sharks go there for all the loose players as party poker well advertised though I would say no looser than say 888 for example gl.

Hi,
This is my first post here as well, but I am playing poker since 2004.
You mentioned a lot of different topics in you post. I will try to refer them separably.
regarding "easy" games in easy sites - usually your chances to win 10$ a hand are equal to the chances you loose them.
In every site you'll play, some of the players will have more experience than you (so at first, I recommend you not to play on "fishy sites"). what you can do is try and choose new or small sites. those sites has many guaranteed tournaments that the number of players in them is much less than the guaranteeing price).
regarding the game you play. it took me few years to understand that my favorite game is Omaha hi/low. I played all sorts of games (by the way, I suck a stud too but I am pretty good at stud hi/low). If you want to learn about the basic rules of each game, you can check this blog.
anyway, remember that poker is a game of experience. 100$/week is pretty high. How much do you intend to invest in it. treat it as "money on education". but the most important thing is to play, play play and play. "EXPERIENCE IS WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU DON"T GET WAHT YOU WANT"
good luck

Greetings to all from the Winona Minnesota. On the banks of the Mississippi River.
Shamelessly marching toward 100 posts so I can add a signature! (the greeting is sincere though)
